NEW YORK, USA, 24 November 2008 The sexual exploitation of children and adolescents is gaining growing visibility as a global reality. Worldwide, children are suffering from the effects of trafficking, pornography, prostitution, rape and abuse. That is the issue being addressed by the World Congress III Against the Sexual Exploitation of Children, taking place in Rio De Janiero, Brazil from 25 to 28 November. The Congress will gather more than three thousand people from five continents, 300 of which will be adolescents. The opening theme of the Congress will be Guarantee of the Rights of Children and Adolescents and their Protection against Sexual Exploitation For a Systemic Approach.
