A journalist from the Standard Group was on Wednesday, July 12, attacked while covering the anti-government protests in Kisumu. Collins Oduor, a photographer, was allegedly assaulted by police officers who were monitoring the protesters along Kisumu-Kakamega road. Oduor claimed that he was attacked while at the gate of the Kisumu Blood Transfusion Centre while trying to clear a path for the protesters and capture photos. The police suddenly attacked him, striking him and causing pain and injuries to the journalist.
